Nachfolgend der text zur Ausstellungseröffnung:
When I tried the first time to articulate myself in pictures, images or illustrations, I could not show what I wanted by drawings. Early on, I continually improved the way to express myself by using colours. Light, colours and their interaction began more and more to be the basic theme. Warm yellow, bright red, deep blue - many of the colours created spaces of transparency and luminosity. Harmonic, cheerful and bright contrasts communicated and reflected the fascination with the colour. The painters Willibrord Haas, August Macke and Piet Mondrian influenced me most. Finally, I chose the camera to be my medium.

In the time of my civil engineering and architectural studies and later in practical work, I was “forced� to learn how to minimize complex systems into reduced details. To realize the single parts and how they are connected to each other made me understand how to reduce a form/complex system to the maximum in their structures and still not to lose the imagination of the whole ensemble. This has been the main influence on how I make photos now.

The whole issue is more than the sum of the items….reduced essentials of the items show the complete whole. Colours are not only decoration; they create the relation to the whole by interacting with the details....so one essential detail/structure explains more than thousands of words. I began to “paint� with words as a writer and with the camera as a photographer.

During my work as a manager in the last 33 years, I had to be a leader for up to 950 employees. “You have to love people, when you want to lead.� This has been the secret what I understood for being successful. You can dislike the whole organization, but when you accept to love the single person as a representative of the total, you will begin to love the complete system and success appears automatically.

When I arrived in Egypt months ago, I could only hate this country which I thought was chaotic, dirty, loud, polluted, complicated, and undisciplined in every situation / action / detail, incomprehensible by the language, unbelievable and incredible by cultural differences, mentality and spirituality.

After some days, I saw the life of the so called “normal� people and I got to know some of them, how they are fighting for their life every day, each hour and minute, in whatever place or who/where they are. I became acquainted to see “life� in all facets and directly in and behind everything there are colours. So colors don't become an end in itself, they are always related to people, their culture, spirituality, creativity, possibility, fantasy, handicraft skills, environments and neighborhoods.

How can you not love Egypt? It's only a question of attitude, how to get together with the people. To like colours means to love people. Especially when Egypt is in my point of view a synonym for every country I visited the last years. Traveling is learning life. The elements/structures are always nearly the same and colours therein are the symbol for life. See my colours, but recognize and discover always the people behind and get connected in a virtual way.

I like colours.......but I love people.

zu der eröffnungsfeier werd ichs wohl nun nicht schaffen... xD
aber wenn du fotograf bist, hättest du vielleicht mal lust ein paar feuerfotos zu machen?
